Dr Fei Sim is the National President and Chair of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) Board, the first female, and the first from a diverse cultural background to be elected to this position since its Federation in 1977. Fei served as the WA State President of the PSA between 2017-2021, before she was elected to serve on the national Board. She is the Chair of the inaugural PSA Contemporary Community Pharmacy Practice (CCPP) Communities of Specialty Interest, which is a forum to support collaboration, innovation and strategic progression of various practice areas in pharmacy. Fei is a Senior Lecturer and the Coordinator of International Engagement in the Curtin Medical School at Curtin University, Western Australia. Fei holds a Doctoral degree in Pharmacy, is a practising pharmacist, a community pharmacy owner, a pharmacist immuniser and an Accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor. She is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the PSA, and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Fei serves on a number of profession and academic-related committees, and is fully committed to the pharmacy profession and is passionate about the future of the profession through growth of professional services to attain the highest level of contemporary pharmacist practice. Through her teaching and research activities as an academic, Fei is committed to motivating and inspiring students to become excellent and competent future pharmacists, and encouraging them to have the courage and aspiration to be future leaders in the primary healthcare team.

Fei has led and is involved in a number of research projects and trials aiming to provide evidence to support the great contribution of pharmacists, including in the area of pharmacist-led immunisation, mental health, primary care and minor ailments management and diabetes. Her teaching awards, the 2018 PSA WA Early Career Pharmacist Award and the 2019 PSA National Early Career Pharmacist of the Year Award are testimony to her commitment to patient care, learning and teaching, leadership in pharmacy, innovation and initiative in pharmacy service delivery, as well as peer and professional engagement.

Tom Simpson is the President of SHPA, having been elected in December 2022. Tom Simpson is the Executive Director, Statewide Hospital Pharmacy Tasmania, and has held positions as Chair, Statewide Pharmacy Executive Committee, the Tasmanian Minister’s Health Council and the Pharmacy Board of Tasmania. 

Tom is a member of the SHPA Leadership and Management Specialty Practice Leadership Committee and holds a conjoint position as Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Tasmania School of Pharmacy. 

Tom was awarded 2018 Tasmanian Pharmacist of the Year and the 2019 SHPA Medal of Merit, recognising outstanding contribution to pharmacy practice locally and nationally.

As a pharmacy graduate from James Cook University, the importance of rural and remote healthcare was reiterated to me throughout my degree. I decided to pursue my internship in Bowen, a beautiful rural town in the Whitsundays. I am incredibly passionate about health promotion, and diabetes awareness - so much so, that I am hoping to become a credentialed diabetes educator in the near future. I believe our profession is constantly evolving, and I am very excited to see what our future  holds. 

Daniel has over 25 years of experience in marketing and communications, working with a wide range of clients including SMEs, NFPs, international brands, and governments. This includes hosting and producing the Guild’s PBCN Podcast. Daniel was a co-founder of SponServe, a SaaS sponsorship platform, and developed Marketing Builder, a unique, card sorting-based approach to help businesses build a marketing plan. Daniel has a Master of Marketing (with Distinction) and tutors at university across management and marketing units.

Jason Harvey is a seasoned pharmacist based in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Charles Sturt University and has been a dedicated professional in the field since 2002. Jason currently practices at Outback Pharmacies, a group operating five stores in the Broken Hill area.

Jason registered as a pharmacist in Jan 2004 and became an owner in his first pharmacy in Nov 2004. Jason is now a partner in 5 pharmacies in Broken Hill, far west NSW. In 2014 Jason’s Pharmacy won the 2014 Pharmacy of the Year. 

Shaylee Mills is an ECP working across community pharmacy and an Aboriginal Health Service in the Pilbara region of WA. Through her experience working in remote communities and multi-disciplinary teams, Shaylee has found her passion for the exciting world of rural pharmacy.

Shaylee shares her day-to-day life as a pharmacist through social media, known as The Rural Pharmacist. Through her platforms, she has created a community of ECPs across Australia and around the world, intending to empower pharmacists to join the rural health workforce through educational content and authentic rural pharmacy insight.

Shaylee has been published in Australian Pharmacist, highlighting diverse rural internships across Australia. She was also PSA's National Intern Pharmacist of the Year 2022 for her efforts working in the Kimberley region. She hopes to continue utilising her platforms to show that rural pharmacy careers have unlimited potential and increase the industry exposure to working as a rural pharmacist.

Peter Guthrey holds the position of Senior Pharmacist, Strategic Policy at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia. Peter supports policy development, advocacy activities, regulatory submissions and practice advice. In the past few years, Peter has led practice guidance and support to the profession in response to COVID19, including PSA's COVID-19 microsite and PSA ECP Facebook group.

Peter has driven key PSA policy work, including Pharmacists in 2023, medicine safety agenda and Australian Pharmacist – and is currently focussed on two major works – the next Professional Practice Standards and the sequel to Pharmacists in 2023. He has over 14 years’ experience in pharmacy policy, regulation, advocacy, quality management and community pharmacy practice. Peter maintains practice as a community pharmacist, working in an after-hours role at Melbourne’s Ascot Vale Pharmacy, one of Melbourne’s 24 hour Supercare pharmacies.

Ayomide (Mide) is a pharmacist, researcher and educator passionate about advancing pharmacy practice through digital innovation and patient-centred care. She holds a PhD from Curtin Medical School, where her research explored the technological needs of community pharmacists to deliver modern, connected healthcare.

An active leader within the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA), she currently serves as the National Early Career Pharmacist (ECP) Board Director, Chair of the PSA ECP Community of Special Interest, Vice President of the PSA Western Australian Branch, and a member of the PSA Membership, Products and Services Committee.

David Luo is the Network Pharmacy Applications Manager for the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network and a dedicated hospital pharmacist with over a decade of experience in NSW public hospitals.

Beginning his career as a rotational pharmacist, David soon discovered a passion for pharmacy systems and transitioned into the specialised field of pharmacy technology and optimisation. Today, he plays a pivotal role in implementing and refining pharmacy systems, ensuring they operate seamlessly and effectively.

James began his career in community pharmacy, completing his internship and spending five years across multiple sites—managing three pharmacies during that time. He later transitioned to hospital pharmacy, where he gained broad clinical exposure before specialising in critical care and emergency medicine. His clinical career culminated in senior roles at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and The Northern Hospital, where he led pharmacy services in the Emergency Department and Emergency/ICU Departments respectively.

Driven by a passion for health technology and efficiency in care delivery, James played a key role in the development and successful implementation of the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at the Parkville Precinct. He served as a Pharmacy Analyst and Principal Pharmacy Trainer, helping to embed digital solutions into clinical practice.

In his current role at Omnicell, James leverages his extensive clinical expertise and pharmacy systems knowledge to identify and implement automation solutions that improve workflows across all pharmacy areas. His focus is on empowering pharmacy and hospital staff to shift time spent on manual processes to meaningful clinical care—ultimately enhancing patient outcomes through smarter technology.

Erin Fawcett is a fourth-year Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science student at the University of South Australia and the Education Director for the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association. Erin's passion for education in healthcare grew from her own journey with women's health, and she is driven to make learning more accessible for pharmacy students nationwide.

Aaliah Nelson is the IPSF Director and serves as the official liaison between NAPSA and IPSF, helping connect members to global opportunities in pharmacy. She took on this role after discovering IPSF at the NAPSA Congress in Hobart, which led her to attend an international conference hosted by IPSF. The experience completely changed her perspective, and now she is committed to spreading the word so others can benefit as well.

Megan Potter is a final-year Pharmacy student at the University of Tasmania and serves as the National Executive Director of Research for the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association. Megan has a strong interest in women’s health and patient education and is dedicated to facilitating research opportunities for NAPSA members through various NAPSA Research initiatives.

Shylee is a community pharmacy Intern, having completed her studies at James Cook University last year. As the Director of Internal and External Affairs, Shylee facilitates communication between the 19 pharmacy schools across the country, and their respective pharmacy student associations. An important part of her role is conducting handovers for each new branch committee to ensure they are equipped with the necessary information to succeed.

McKinley is a community pharmacy intern in regional Tasmania. She has particular interests in children's and women's medicine. She has a passion for improving healthcare access and interprofessional collaboration in regional areas. 

Mia Avram is a third-year Pharmacy student at Monash University and currently serves as both the Treasurer and Policy & Advocacy Director of the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association. Mia works in community pharmacy and is passionate about pharmacists’ role in accessible, patient-centred primary care, as well as student leadership and advocacy.

Sebastian Harper is a final year Pharmacy student at Griffith University, and National President of the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association. Sebastian has a passion for drug and alcohol addiction services, LGBTQIA+ health and direct advocacy to government in the interests of NAPSA's pharmacy student members.

Karen Brown is an award-winning pharmacist, entrepreneur, and community health leader based in Queensland. She is the Managing Partner of TerryWhite Chemmart Arana Hills and has been instrumental in transforming community pharmacy through innovation, team culture, and patient-centred care. Karen was named the 2018 TerryWhite Chemmart Pharmacist of the Year and her pharmacy was awarded the 2021 National Pharmacy of the Year.

A former Queensland Firebirds netballer, Karen blends her sporting discipline with business leadership. She is a co-founder of Batch Tested, Australia’s only platform certifying sports supplements for athletes, and serves on advisory boards for TerryWhite Chemmart, the University of Queensland School of Pharmacy, the Australasian College of Pharmacy, and PSA Leadership.

David Paulmert is an early-career pharmacist known for his commitment to rural and remote healthcare. He currently serves communities across the Torres Strait Islands, often commuting by helicopter to deliver care in remote health centres. 

David was awarded the 2018 Guild Intern Pharmacist of the Year during his time at LiveLife Pharmacy in Port Douglas. A graduate of Griffith University, he held leadership roles in the Griffith University Association of Pharmacy Students (GUAPS) and the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association (NAPSA), where he was named an honorary life member.

Bronwyn Clark is the APC's Chief Executive Officer. Bronwyn initially trained as a pharmacist in New Zealand and has worked internationally in hospital and community pharmacy, primary care, education and regulation.

Bronwyn is interested in developing and expanding the way that pharmacists practise. She is also involved in research into interprofessional education and how professions work together. She has been recognised as a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

Bronwyn's contribution to pharmacy reaches beyond APC including as:

-Chair of the International Pharmacists Federation (FIP) Consortium (for provision and partnerships)

-former Chair of the Health Professions Accreditation Collaborative Forum

Executive member of the International Committee for Life Long Learning in Pharmacy Conferences.

Rita has been with APC for over 12 years, currently working within the Engagement Team to support both the Verifications and Candidate Relationship Services teams. In her role, she ensures the accuracy and authenticity of candidate documentation, providing crucial support to candidates as they progress through their pharmacy journey. 

Rita brings a thoughtful and detail-oriented approach to her work, ensuring that every candidate receives the support they need.   

Sarah has a strong background in health, aged care, and customer service. She is part of the Candidate Relationship Team, and her goal is to make the candidate process as smooth and stress free as possible.

Yvonne manages the Candidate Relationship Services team and supports the Director of Engagement. Yvonne works closely with APC’s delivery provider Pearson VUE ensuring a smooth registration process and delivery service of APC examinations. 

With a diverse background in the Registered Training Organization (RTO) sector and retail management, Yvonne brings a wealth of experience in customer service and operational efficiency

 ensuring the highest standards of support for candidates throughout their journey. 

Associate Professor Leanne Chalmers (she/her) discovered her passion for pharmacy early in life and graduated from Curtin University of Technology in 1997. She gained experience as a hospital pharmacist in both Australia and the United Kingdom, eventually specialising in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. After completing her PhD at the University of Tasmania, she accepted a Lecturer position there. In 2017, A/Prof Chalmers returned to Curtin University and, in 2025, took on the role of Interim Director of Pharmacy at the Curtin Medical School.

Angus Barnes is a 4th year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) student at the University of Newcastle, with a strong interest in expanding Pharmacists Scope of Practice and promoting equitable healthcare to all Australian communities.

Professor Peter Cabot, Head of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS) at The University of Queensland, has been instrumental in enhancing the school's global reputation since joining in 1999. His leadership roles, including Director of Teaching and Learning and Associate Dean (Academic), have been pivotal. Notably, he developed the award-winning Master of Pharmaceutical Industry Practice program, which has gained international acclaim. Professor Cabot's teaching and mentorship have significantly impacted pharmacists' careers both nationally and internationally.

Dr Jacinta Johnson, FANZCAP (Edu. Research), works across roles as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at the University of South Australia and as Senior Pharmacist for Research within the South Australian statewide public hospital pharmacy service. Dr Johnson has held an academic position within the pharmacy program at UniSA since 2010, teaching in pharmacology, therapeutics, and pharmacy practice. Her research interests include medication safety, health practitioner development, and interprofessional learning and practice.

Ms Eva Burtonclay McMahon has deep roots in her hometown of Bendigo, Victoria, where she is a 4th-year Pharmacy student at La Trobe University. She currently works as a pharmacy technician in both community and hospital settings. Additionally, Eva is actively engaged with the Bendigo Association of Pharmacy Students, serving as the 2024 President.

Dr. Natalia Popowicz FANZCAP (Edu., Resp.) is the Deputy Head of Pharmacy at the University of Western Australia, where she has worked since 2018, and currently leads the curriculum review of the Master of Pharmacy program. She is committed to preparing adaptable, generalist pharmacists equipped for evolving scopes of practice. With 18 years of experience in respiratory medicine, she has advanced hospital pharmacy services and contributed to global clinical guidelines in pleural diseases and cystic fibrosis. Passionate about interprofessional learning and high-quality clinical placements, she ensures graduates are equipped for future healthcare opportunities.

I completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at University of Canberra, graduating in 2018. I completed my internship in community pharmacy, Capital Chemist Southlands. I completed my intern program through NAPE at Monash University in Melbourne, followed by a graduate certificate in pharmacy practice (wound care). I am passionate about community pharmacy, becoming a pharmacy owner at Capital Chemist Southlands in March, 2024. I love being a pharmacist and enjoy my role in our tight knit community. I work with people to help them get well and stay well. It’s fascinating to see the different ways that every person interacts with their health. My interests in pharmacy include wound care, vascular health and medical compression, and the use of technology in pharmacy. 

Erica Marsom currently works for the Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) team as the Lead Pharmacist for Workforce Programs. Within this role, Erica contributes to the ongoing development of the AdPha Resident Training Program and Registrar Training Program across Australia and the recently launched Australian & New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP).  Erica draws on her 11 years' experience in hospital clinical pharmacy and pharmacy education and is passionate about educating and empowering career development opportunities for early career pharmacists.

Leon Yap is the President of Professional Pharmacists Australia (PPA), the national union representing employee pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across community pharmacy and private hospital pharmacy. Along with providing workplace advice and support, industrial representation and professional indemnity insurance, PPA also strongly advocates for improved wages and conditions for its members through strategic engagement with government and enterprise agreement negotiations with employers.

Serving as National President for the past three years and a member of the Committee for over a decade, he is passionate at advocating for fair wages, improved working conditions, and stronger representation for pharmacy employees. 

With nearly 30 years of experience in the pharmacy profession, Leon Yap has served as President of PPA for the past three years and a member of the National Committe for over a decade. Leon is also a Senior Hospital Pharmacist based on Queensland's Gold Coast, and prior to this, worked as a community pharmacist for many years. This experience has allowed Leon to gain firsthand insight into the many challenges faced by pharmacists employed across Australia's pharmacy sector.

Khanh Nguyen is currently the National Intern Training Program & Vaccination Manager for the Australasian College of Pharmacy and a registered pharmacist.  She has been working in this sector since February 2021.

Khanh has worked as a community pharmacist for 20 years after completing a B.Pharm (UQ) in Queensland. Khanh comes from a strong   community pharmacy background in management and operations.  She has experienced working in hospital and community pharmacy settings in both Queensland and Victoria.

Khanh is passionate about pharmacy and mentoring the next generation of pharmacists and others in the industry.  She is also a Non-Executive Director with Glaucoma Australia and enjoys collaborating with other health professionals to optimise patient care and in particular ways to better manage patient’s healthcare needs.

Ben is the Intern Programs Manager at Monash University in Victoria, one of four managers for the NAPE Intern Training Programs - a collaboration between Monash University, The University of Sydney, The University of Queensland and the University of South Australia. We aim to assist interns in the transition from student to an independent, competent health professional and to achieve “Excellence beyond competence”

He is a contemporary practitioner-educator with 15 years of experience providing pharmacy services in the community setting and leading education programs in the higher education space. Responsible for coordination of the final stages of students’ transition to fully registered practitioners, and supporting preceptors and supervisors in the workplace setting. Ben's strong passion for the pharmacy profession and education ensures interns are presented with learning opportunities representative of changing practice in a supportive environment that helps guide early-career pharmacists toward their career aspirations. 

Emily Thorp is an experienced pharmacist and educator with over 20 years in the pharmacy profession. She has held pharmacy management roles across rural and regional areas of Tasmania, New South Wales, and the Republic of Ireland, later managing a pharmacy in Hobart focused on mental health services—a field that continues to inspire her professional interests. 

Emily is also a qualified Mental health First Aid instructor, having trained hundreds of pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and pharmacy students on supporting and appropriately referring patients, as well as managing their own mental health. 

Emily has been a member of the PSA team for almost 8 years and in her current role of Acting Manager – Training and Assessment, Emily manages the team who supports learners through qualifications from Certificate III in Community Pharmacy, Diploma of Leadership and Management, Graduate Diploma of Advanced Pharmacy Practice, and the Intern Training Program.  Her passion lies in supporting and training intern pharmacists to be their best and look after themselves in what can be a challenging year.  Her extensive practical experience and passion for education empower her to guide learners at all stages to achieve their full potential within the profession.  

Kay is passionate about the health and well-being of health professionals.   After forging a career based in hospital pharmacy, Kay has over the years been involved in roles providing services which support pharmacists and other health professionals, including membership organisations for pharmacists and for doctors and advisory committees. Kay continued clinical work both in hospital pharmacy and as an accredited consultant pharmacist undertaking medication reviews until recent years. Kay is also actively involved in research projects investigating factors that influence the health and wellbeing of pharmacists.

In addition to being Executive Officer for the Pharmacists’ Support Service, Kay volunteers as the company secretary for Hand N Hand Services Pty Ltd, a not for profit organisation which coordinates a peer support program for healthcare workers.

In 2020 Kay was awarded the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Symbion Pharmacist of the Year and in 2023 Kay was awarded the Fred J Boyd Award by the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (Now Advanced Pharmacists Australia).

Lilli has over 7 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, having consulted into some of Australia’s largest organisations on Employer Brand, Recruitment Marketing and Job Market Insights. Lilli, having recently joined SEEK as a Senior Account Manager, is also passionate about Candidate Experience and helping businesses achieve optimal hiring outcomes.

Erin has an extensive background in recruitment, having recruited across multiple industries in Australia and the US. Erin is also passionate about Employer Brand, Candidate Experience as well as optimising our client’s use of SEEK to engage with top talent.

Andrew Crawley is the General Manager of Pharmacy at Symbion Pty Ltd. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Commerce from the Queensland University of Technology, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He has been working in the pharmacy industry for over 10 years, initially as a Business Development Manager in the Northern Region, and then as the General Manager of Pharmacy. He has a wealth of experience in business strategy, operational finance, and relationship building.
